*New Partnership to Strengthen F ilipino  Families  Serving in  Uniform*
Manila, Philippines  – On March 28, 2017, the Philippine Army signed a memorandum of understanding with Pamilya Muna Philipinas (Family First Philippines) to empower and strengthen Filipino families in uniform. PMP is a Family First Asia partner, supported by the Fellowship of Fathers Foundation, that seeks to support Filipino Families and strengthen the Filipino nation.
Armed Forces of the Philippines Acting Commanding General, Lieutenant General Glorioso V. Miranda and Francis Glenn Yu, PMP President, along with other leaders and staff, gathered at Ricarte Hall, the Philippine Army Officers’ Clubhouse in Fort Andres Bonifacio, Metro Manila for a signing ceremony and brief program. The MOU formalizes a partnership between AFP and PMP/FFP that enables PMP to offer services and programs to build military families, particularly PMP’s Military Family Care (MFC) program. The MFC program aims to promote and encourage good governance and innovation in family care and welfare for families of the men and women in AFP uniform.

At the signing ceremony, PMP President Francis Glenn Yu talked about the crisis that many Filipino families currently face. ” Every parent wants the best for their children, but they think that giving financial support is their most important role. While financial support is important for a family to function, it is not the key to a happy and stable family.” Yu continued, ” Many parents do not realize the importance of given quality time to their children. This is especially important when daily busyness and work are so demanding, especially for fathers and mothers in uniform, who are on call 24/7.” For this reason, PMP wants to serve military families by equipping them with ways they can more effectively balance family life and work.
As a partner of Family First Asia, Pamilya Muna Pilipinas seeks to promote good family values and practical steps for putting family first. The Fellowship of Fathers Foundation (USA) provides support and partners closely with these family centered organizations.
